Have You Experienced a Mighty Change of Heart

Have you thought much about Alma's question in Alma 5:14--"Have you experienced this mighty change in your hearts?"
Why didn't he just say "Do you understand the doctrine of the mighty change?"
Ours is a religion that requires us to expereince, to bring forth fruit, to become, and not just to know or to say.
As we experience this change bit by bit, day by day, the Lord gives us this unusual and stunning promise: He will allow His image to come upon us. The change is both internal and external. The change must occur in our minds and hearts as well as in our outward actions. It involves clean hands and a pure heart (see Elder Bednar's talk Oct. 07) or another way to say it is to "be born of water and of the Spirit" (John 3:5).
