Seek to Obtain My Word

What motivates you to study the scriptures? How do you help others find the motivation to study?

While I'm sure most of us don't go around urging people to read the scriptures there are times when we fervently desire to help someone we care about--someone who could be blessed by invigorated efforts to study the holy scriptures.

This is something I think about often. As a mother, a teacher, a citizen of the world (for a few examples) I often think how different life would be for a child, a student, or a fellow citizen, if they: understood and felt God's love; had the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their lives; embraced true doctrine; could access protection against evil; discover answers to life's purpose and deep questions; and so much more--all of which can come from a habit of daily scripture study.

Did you notice I did not say "daily scripture reading?" The word "study" implies something deeper than "reading."

So, how do you find motivation to Study the Scriptures? How do you encourage others? What words of testimony do you offer to them to inspire them? What behaviors or words of others motivate you? What works for you when it comes to seeking to "obtain my words"?
